Please use this prayer focus as you are led by God’s Spirit, in personal prayer times, in church prayer times, passing it on via church communications/Facebook groups etc etc.
Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV) – “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Jeremiah 29:7 (NIV) – “…seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”
Crown Him with Many Crowns – give thanks for the cross section of God’s church in Ipswich that were part of this event and the encouragement of hearing about God’s work in the lives of young people. It was good to hear about the 24/7 prayer room and its re-launch for Lent. Please consider using the prayer inspiration leaflet with organisation prayer points which was handed out at Crown Him. This is also downloadable from the IIP homepage.
Please see Events - Ipswich In Prayer for details of the follow on “Crown Him, Ipswich” prayer gatherings in March, July and October. Note that the October gathering will also be a celebration of 25 years of Ipswich In Prayer!
The Warm Spaces initiative continuing to show Christian compassion in action in the local area.
Increased awareness of the cost of living impacting many people and the ongoing provision of resources to foodbanks, top up shops etc to help those who are struggling the most, even if they are full time workers.
Those who do not yet have a relationship with Jesus or have wandered away – may we have the stamina to keep praying and trusting God for their salvation and may we see real movement in their lives this year.
The many who have lost loved ones in recent weeks – as this is often a time of year when deaths seem to increase for a range of reasons.
Council workers who provide key services around our town in the worst of the winter weather as well as in the summer heat. Pray that all workers wherever they are based will have the tools they need to be productive.
Non-office/home workers – may they be strengthened to still work well in the colder weather. May they have the compassion they need to help people in the best way they can.
Justice workers – with pressure of cases pray for clear thinking in every situation, a compassionate heart and an approach that is full of integrity so that true justice really is done.
Dear Christ Jesus, thank you that you invite us to spend time in your presence because you want to impart your peace in place of our concerns. May your people in Ipswich keep lifting up before you those things you put on our hearts in order that we will see you act as only you can to transform lives and bless this town where you have placed us. Thank you for all those who serve this town and we simply request that they will look to you for the equipping they need to do their roles well each day. All this we ask for your Glory. Amen.
